Last night was our first adoption fund-raising event. We hosted a concert featuring many of our talented friends, and had a wonderful time! We were able to raise $1,300! It may not seem like much compared to the $85,000 total that we need, but it will definitely help! Today, my family went to the Common Ground fair, a really fun fair that focuses mostly on organic, sustainable, and natural products and techniques. It's just about the only place that you can go barefoot, wear long skirts, and come with your large family without feeling out of place :) I know a lot of people who attend see the earth and what it produces as part of a "spiritual world", and everything seems mystical to them. I had a great time, though, learning more about how to use the beautiful earth God has given us for His glory! It was amazing, as I walked around and saw beautiful plants and herbs, feeling wonderfully lovely and free to explore, the overwhelming joy of knowing that my Jesus had created every bit of it for me to enjoy! I'm not usually a fan of a capella, but lately some friends have let me listen to some that I've really enjoyed. My favorite uncle came to spend the weekend with us, and he introduced me to the group "GLAD". I'll post one of their songs, but you should definitely check out more of their music! It's beautiful!
