Today has been a crazy day. I'm not going to lie. I woke up, got ready for the day, drove 1 1/2 hours to Farmington to take a CLEP test, tested, and drove back. I was met at home by a little brother who has a cold and wasn't the most cooperative little guy, along with my 3 other younger siblings. My house was simply a crazy place to be! But after a sweet kiss from my 2 year old brother with the drippy nose, I realized, it's the very best place for me to be right now! Is it glamorous? no....I share a small room with my 3 sisters. Is it always fun? No! but it is my mission, for now, to be the very best daughter and sister that I can be. The best trick I've found for being "content in the crazy"? SMILE! a crazy day turns into an amazingly blessed day once you start praising God for all the sweet little moments He puts into your life. Your favorite song playing, a break in the clouds, an open parking space....God does so many "little" things for us every day....and when we don't take the time to notice, well, life seem a bit crazy. But if you smile about the little things,the sense of joy in where God has placed you now is incredible! You know all those things that make your life crazy? they're usually the ones that make your life enjoyable too. For example, this morning i was sitting with my 5 year old sister on the couch, getting ready to leave. As we sat there, she said " Erica, I want to be just like you!" Talk about a blessing! And also a huge responsibility! Believe me, your smile not only affects you, but those around you! Children, friends, parents, siblings, strangers, everyone could use a smile...especially one that comes out of a genuine love for the Lord...Just something to think about next time your life gets "crazy"....
