Happy November!

Well , I guess I probably should have put this post up on Sunday, but I was pretty busy, so I didn't. I can't say that November is a particular favorite with me, as I personally prefer the brisk, colorful month of October, but I suppose that it must have some redeeming qualities. For instance, that sweet call to homemaking that feels so much stronger as the days get colder and shorter, and all I feel like doing is cooking or sewing, or doing anything "home-y". Or maybe the fact that this is a month when we have a whole day set aside to give thanks , and we tend to focus more on the wonderful heritage that God blessed our country with. Being a descendant of an immigrant family 5 generations ago on one side and probably 4 on the other, I can't claim a direct lineage to the Pilgrims , but I do know of many Christians who have had their faith handed down through the generations , beginning with a faithful Pilgrim who was willing to give up everything for faith. Oh, to have that kind of devotion! Well, I guess I got a little side tracked on the Thanksgiving thing, but anyway, for those of you who love November ( and hunting season) , hooray! the wait is over! And for those of us who don't necessarily appreciate it quite as much, perhaps it will be a wonderful season of growing in grace. After all, the weather outside doesn't really matter, but what is going on inside your heart does. Maybe,as autumn surrenders is glorious beauty into an almost ugly, dead , brown state , we will surrender ourselves to Christ, no matter what it looks like to others, so that in His perfect time, He can bring us out like flowers in spring! What an exciting thought! uh-oh...I feel another rabbit trail coming up.... I'd better end this post now before we're somewhere off in Wonderland :-)
